Community Captain Award For Hispanic Heritage Night
The New York Rangers invited Bronx Council member, Rafael Salamanca Jr, to join the celebration and receive the Community Captain Award during last night's 4-1 loss to the Nashville Predators.
The team donated $10,000 to the Latino Youth Outreach, a nonprofit organization that offers workshops for Latino students looking to enroll in higher education.
As a Hispanic myself, it's good to see representation, as the Hispanic community is not into the sport of hockey as strongly as other sports.
This gave us something to celebrate even though the Blueshirts had a tough outing against the Preds.
