Filip Chytil reveals devastating statement as his most recent Injury may have jeopardized his game
Filip Chytil, Will Cuylle, and Kaapo Kakko were one of the Rangers' best lines this season. Until an injury happened when K'Andre Miller and Chytil collided on the ice. Is he fully recovered?
Chytil was part of the Rangers' third line which dominated the ice with aggression, and speed and produced high-danger chances resulting in goals.
This season it seemed as if he was playing the best hockey of his career until the collision happened between himself and K'Andre Miller.
The injury which occurred on November 14th set him back considerably this season. He's only played 21 games and scored 10 points( 5 G, 5 A) but could return to form.
It's always hard when you leave for a couple weeks,» Chytil said. «I was playing with a flow before the injury, everything was going and I didn't have to think about it. When you're off for a little bit, naturally you lose it. I'm just trying to find a way to get back to be the way I was playing at the beginning of the season. I think the chances are there still that I'm creating, but it could be way better and I must produce more.
He feels confident and has pledged himself to working hard on his game, to get back to the starting point before his injury.
«I'm not overthinking that, I'm just confident in myself, and if I keep going like that, work hard everyday, everything will come back and I'll be in that same moment I was before the injury.»
The Rangers will need it as the Cuylle-Chytil-Kakko line produced at an exponential 62.4% XG one of the best of the team per MoneyPuck.
One way of demonstrating Chytil's leadership on the ice is his playmaking ability and crashing the net.
«They were good. It was more of a simple approach for that line,» Rangers coach Peter Laviolette explained postgame. «They got the puck behind the defense, they used our defensemen, they were able to swing some pucks in from a distance, and they went to the net hard. They found themselves in the areas of scoring goals just by getting to the net on the point shots.»
Unfortunately for Chytil, multiple concussions have shortened last season for the center. Playing only ten games, and returned at the beginning of the playoffs against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Last Six Games
Since his return to the ice post-injury, he's played six games and posted only one point. A point of frustration for the forward who expects more out of himself.
No,» Chytil said about if he found his flow back. «It's hard to get that back. I feel like some games I'm playing good, some games could be better. I think I've created some chances for my teammates, but it's not showing on a production that much right now, which would also help my body feel better. It hasn't come so far after that injury with only one goal, but I have to just keep grinding and have to get back on track.»
Could the trio continue their growth, and shine once again as the Rangers' best line on the ice?
