Former controversial New York Rangers defenseman has been linked to a surprising Pacific Division team.

Tony DeAngelo has been linked to the Edmonton Oilers as a potential suitor for their second power play unit.
After the Oilers fell short in the Stanley Cup Finals, they have made a few moves to strengthen their core this offseason, with bring in Jeff Skinner, Viktor Arvidsson, Ty Emberson and Vasiliy Podkolzin, to help provide depth to their roster.
However, it appears the Edmonton Oilers are still searching for more firepower and have recently been linked to former problematic Rangers defenseman, Tony DeAngelo.
28-year old Tony DeAngelo has quite the resume as he's been with quite a few teams throughout his NHL career, he was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2014, DeAngelo was traded to the Arizona Coyotes before even suiting up for the Lightning.
After being with the Coyotes for a single season he was traded to the New York Rangers, where he would play four season with the team but during his forth season he was placed on waivers just after six games due to an altercation he had with Rangers goalie Alexander Georgiev.
Just last season DeAngleo played with the Hurricanes and played a total of 31 games and managed to tally 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists), but is now a free agent who hasn't signed with any NHL organizations yet, making him the perfect fit for the Oilers.
