Former New York Rangers forward will miss the entire 2024-25 NHL season, after undergoing neck surgery.

Jesper Fast who is currently with the Carolina Hurricanes will be sidelined the entire 2024-25 season as he's undergone neck surgery.

The 32-year old forward has made a name for himself as a bottom six forward for the Hurricanes, as he tallied 19 points in 73 games last season.

Multiple sources have confirmed that Fast underwent surgery back on August 6th, and will not return for the following season:

Fast was drafted 157th overall in the 2010 NHL draft by the New York Rangers, but remained in Sweden through the 2012-13 season and joined the Rangers prior to 2013-14 season.

Fast would play seven seasons for the Rangers organization but eventually left when he signed a three-year contract with the Carolina Hurricanes on Oct. 10, 2020.

Definitely an unfortunate news update for Hurricanes fans, as Fast sustained an injury during their final regular season game last season against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
