The New York Rangers won a Presidents Trophy during the 2023-2024 regular season. But even with a plethora of veteran talent, doesn't mean a rookie or prospect couldn't find their way onto the roster.

Three prospects who could find their way onto the regular season roster on opening day, or find a way later in the season.

Zac Jones

Jones who spent a significant amount of time with the big club was reported to get a good look at training camp this year. With Erik Gustafsson's exit, there's a spot open ripe for the taking and Jones could be the next-man-up.
Jones's short NHL career has been 69 games spread across two seasons, of which 31 came in 2023-2024 where he scored 9 points( 2 G, 7 A).
Othmann has been discussed as trade bait for the 2024-2025 season, but he could come into camp with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove. He could find himself on the roster if he plays right in the right situations.
This is speaking ideally, as it stands the Rangers have a bin full of talent to pull from this season. But he could find a spot in the regular lineup if there's an injury or trade later in the season.

Edstrom may never be a goal-scorer that the Rangers need, but as a physical-imposing forward he could find a role elsewhere in the lineup.
Edstrom could find a role in the bottom six which could help the Rangers win playoff games and champions when the team has to dig deep and get in the dirty areas of the ice.
The bruising forward played 11 games last season, put up two points, and has the presence to strike fear into the opposition.
He had 30 hits in 2023-2024, and if you make that an 82-game projection, Edstrom could've had 223-224 body checks last year.
