San Jose Sharks general manager Mike Grier, speaks out on Goodrow's behalf regarding his frustration with the New York Rangers.

Just last week the Rangers waived forward Barclay Goodrow to clear up cap space and avoid playing the final three years of his contract, leaving the Sharks to claim him off of waivers just a day later.
According to a recent report from Elliotte Friedman, Goodrow was unaware that the Rangers were going to place him on waivers until the the very last minute, and was pretty upset with the situation considering the Sharks were on his no-trade list.
However, the Sharks general manager Mike Grier spoke out on Goodrow's behalf about how he might be currently feeling about the situation and his optimism for the his return to San Jose.
«When you're an athlete, even though it's a job and a business, there's definitely an emotional element to it,» Grier said. «And I think (Goodrow) and his family have kind of gone over the rawness of the situation, and I think the disappointment of the situation. But I think he's someone who will be excited to get back to San Jose and be a part of the group.»

Grier seems to understands why Goodrow has hard feelings about returning to the Sharks, but emphasized that Goodrow will be happy to be back with his former team despite them being on his no-trade list.
Barclay Goodrow played for the Sharks through the first six years of his NHL career, so San Jose is very familiar to him. However things be different as he returns to the Sharks organization.
As the veteran forward went from a contending team to a rebuilding team, things won't be easy considering at this stage in his career. Nonetheless Goodrow will have to embrace his new role with the shark.
