His comments were reflecting on the 5-0 loss that the team took against the New Jersey Devils On Monday.
Boy, this is the start of something. If the Rangers don't dig out of this in a hurry, a lot of heads are gonna roll...
It's getting worse and worse every day. I don't know whether the question would be to blow it up, but I think they're gonna make a really big move. They've gotta change it, whether it's the chemistry, the GM, the coach, somethings gonna happen, where this team is gonna make a distinctive change in the way they look, come this time probably within the next two weeks if this stays the same way.
The situation with the Rangers is becoming alarming as decisions are beginning to look desperate and in a panic. It seems the chaos that has infiltrated their dressing room has completely crippled their ability to play hockey and win games on a consistent basis.
The latest move that the Rangers did on Monday was making one of their top leaders Chris Kreider a healthy scratch which Boudreau considers a serious statement to the rest of the team to tell the players to get their act together and to start playing the game they know how to play.
"If you want to make a statement, you've gotta do something to one of your top players... This is not a third-line guy that's getting scratched, this is a top-line guy, a first power play unit guy, this is a leader on this team... But he could have gone down the line.. He could have (benched) Zibanejad..."
It's clear that Boudreau does not agree with what's going on with the Rangers and many people across the NHL also agree that some of the tactics that are being used are not the best way to go about making changes.
General manager Chris Drury has made several changes to the Rangers over the past couple of months including Barclay Goodrow who was sent to waivers and was chosen by the San Jose Sharks, trading their captain Jacob Trouba who was basically forced out, trading Kappo Kakko to Seattle and now making Chris Kreider a
healthy scratch.
It's safe to say that this is not over in that Rangers fans will need to sit back and endure what's about to unfold with their team as the collapse continues enter now 13 losses of 17 games enter now below .500 for the first time in a long time.
