Frustration Brewing With League Best Player. What if?
I know this is maybe not as realistic as I am hoping.
But hear me out here Rangers fans. Edmonton Oilers star center, Connor McDavid is going through a rather frustrating time with the team right now.
The Oilers are nearly at the bottom of the standings, poor play and performance from their goalies, the team is visibly frustrated, none more than McDavid it seems.
Take a listen to what he said the other day about team's failures lately in games:
"The mental mistakes that keep costing us over and over again made us chase the game. It is just death by a thousand cuts, that is what it feels like. One mistake and it costs us, and another little mistake and it just snowballs. It is tough to chase games."
With the frustration and chaos surrounding the team now, and the possibility they might miss the playoffs this season, is there a chance they might soon blow up the team, and trade their star center instead of wasting his prime?
Even better question? Do you think the Rangers, might have a chance at snagging him?
I know it's only wishful thinking, and the Oilers would want a massive haul. But the Rangers do still have all their first round picks.
They have some assets to trade for. Deciding on the players to trade as well is a tricky matter here, but almost nothing is off the table. His contact expires at the end of the 2025-2026 season.
It's just, something to keep an eye out for throughout the year.
