Hockey analyst calls out Matt Rempe and labels him as an embarrassment to the league
New York Rangers enforcer Matt Rempe continues to receive harsh criticism for his lack of skills, but this time it's by a big name.
Matt Rempe joined the New York Rangers last season and quickly made a name for himself as he become one of the most intriguing players to watch due to his fighting skills and willingness to drop the gloves with anyone, but that doesn't seem to be winning any games for the Rangers.
A recent report has surfaced from reporter Ken Campbell of The Hockey News, where he brutal calls out the type of player Matt Rempe has become during his time in the NHL, and believes there's no need for a 6-foot-7 player who only manages to get five minutes of ice-time in three games this season.
"Full disclosure: I have no time for one-dimensional enforcers in hockey. I have no time for Matt Rempe. But even those who champion players of this kind in the NHL have to be wondering what he is doing there, no?"
To worsen the situation, Matt Rempe has already been sent down to the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, as the Rangers try to transform the 22-year old forward into a more offensive player. However, Campbell doesn't stop there as he continues to disrespect Matt Rempe and questions how he even has a roster spot in the National Hockey League:
«How is this guy actually occupying a roster spot in the best league in the world? Nothing that this guy does is at an NHL level, he can't hit at the NHL level without hurting people, he can't fight at the NHL level, and he can't play at the NHL level.»

Regardless of being a Rangers fan or not, at some point we have to agree that Rempe needs more time in the AHL with the Hartford Wolf Pack so he can focus on his offensive skills and improve his game instead of being on the ice to just fight, despite how much fans love to watch it.
