The Rangers lost their first game in the month of February against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Not the team one expects to break a double digit winning streak, but it did happen.

Thankfully the Rangers will have another chance Wednesday against them to correct themselves.

Head coach Peter Laviolette sounded a bit dejected after the loss.

He was asked about the Rangers playing their third game in four nights was a factor, and was also asked if Matt Rempe fighting every game is sustainable or if he has to have a conversation with him:

"There's conversations all the time. We don't ever not have conversations about what's going on. The players are out on the ice and things happen He came back and gave us some good minutes. His line scored a goal, he went to the net, [Adam Edstrom] popped one in. So he came back and contributed."

It is concerning that every enforcer on each team is trying to get their shot at Rempe.

Hopefully he learns not to answer the call every time, and gives himself a little breather.

As for the loss, the Rangers created some breathing room between themselves and the Carolina Hurricanes in the division.

Still looking good in the final frame of the season.
