Laviolette Addresses Scoring Drought From Former No. 1 Pick
Alexis Lafrenière hasn't scored a goal since November 22nd, in the 1-0 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
But don't be fooled, he has played extremely well.
Aggressive, confident, and setting his fellow line-mates up and has been really productive defensively too. Head coach Peter Laviolette explains his impact:
"I think Laf's working hard. I really believe in him and the way he plays the game right now. I believe in that line. They've done good things consistently the entire year to this point. For me, it's just a matter of time. He's just got to keep doing the right things inside of that line, playing with speed, attacking the net. They've been really effective for us and he's been really effective for us. I don't put too much stock into it, that line is still real productive for me."
He has stepped it up in a big way this season. Lafrenière is one of three players on the team with 14+ even strength points this season.
Funny enough, his fellow line-mates are also the two highest point scorers on even strength as well.
