Laviolette Is Giving This Defensive Pair Another Chance Tonight
The Rangers are going to be skating into Madison Square Garden with the same defensive pairing they went with in the 5-4 shootout loss to the Minnesota Wild.
That includes the pair of the two young defensemen in
Braden Schneider and Zac Jones. Jones has been added to the lineup due to the injury of
Adam Fox.
This is what head coach Peter Laviolette had to say earlier about Jones:
"We're going to put him back in there. He, along with everybody else, gets another opportunity to go play a good game. His attitude has been unbelievable... Not being in the lineup sometimes can cause you to sour, (but)... he's done everything we've asked."
Many things went wrong in that loss to Minnesota. But you can argue the biggest reason they lost was because of this defensive pairing not holding it together.
Hopefully, the second time is a charm, another game to gel and figure out their game will be good.
Here is Schneider on the game plan for tonight:
Let's see if these two can hold up their end this time against Detroit.
