Laviolette makes shocking comments before game
Matt Rempe has been a net positive in the Rangers, lineup, as evidence the Rangers are 18-1-0 with the enforcer in the lineup.
Rempe's insertion into the lineup during Game 2 led to Kaapo Kakko, being a healthy scratch, despite his line's successful driving offense.
However, Laviolette addressed the situation of Kakko's benching with the media, as he said Kakko may not have liked the situation, but there were discussions with Kakko before the scratch and afterwards.
More or less, Kakko was held out of Game 2 for Rempe and the team would defeat the Panthers. 2-1, with Barclay Goodrow scoring the game-winning-goal.
With Jimmy Vesey out, Rempe will stay in the lineup and add the spark needed for the Rangers.
In 11 playoff games for the New York Rangers, Kakko has 2 points (1 G, 1A) with a plus/minus of -2.
You can't help but think, the discussion was about production, as Kakko himself has the same amount of points as Rempe currently.
