Matt Rempe Earns Praise from Pittsburgh Penguins Top Prospect
The Matt Rempe effect has been illustrated this offseason.
It has continued into the NHLPA's Rookie Combine as Penguins top prospect Rutger McGroarty and Matt Rempe met. Afterward, McGroarty would give Rempe a glowing review of the enforcer.
«One of a kind guy, honestly,» McGroarty said via Greg Wyshynski of ESPN. «Such a nice guy. So down to earth, just an amazing guy.»
NHL Insider Greg Wyshynski reported that McGroarty said that meeting Rempe was his favorite part of the day.
Rempe played in only 17 games this past NHL season, which is why he, still is considered a rookie and could show up to the combine.
The 21-year-old enforcer was a quick fan favorite, and his fellow competitors have grown to love the guy as well.
His fighting capabilities put him on the map, while his personality, has won him fans in the league as well.
While his personality is infectious, his willingness to drop the gloves with everyone is a factor even McGroarty should consider.
