The hockey community is still mourning the tragic passing of Johnny Gaudreau and his younger brother Matthew, who passed away in a terrible incident last week.

Last Thursday, 43-year old Sean Higgins stuck the Gaudreau brothers on their bikes after he was trying to overtake another vehicle, and both Johnny and his little brother Matthew Gaudreau were pronounced dead at the scene. Police have also reported that Higgins was intoxicated and charged with two counts of vehicular homicide.

Today, Johnny's wife Meredith released another heartbreaking statement on instagram, regarding the couple's three-year wedding anniversary today.

«I never post this much but John deserves it. 3 years ago today I became yours forever. One of the best days of my life, including the night we got engaged and the days we brought our babies into the world. The day I met you I remember saying to myself, omg I'm going to marry him. And every day after that kept getting better and better. I love you forever John and I am so proud to be your wife.»

Meredith Gaudreau and Madeline have stayed strong throughout this heartbreaking tragedy, and everyone here at NY Rangers Insider continue to keep the entire Gaudreau family in our thoughts.
