Al Trautwig, held a long career, as a sportscaster that covered the New York Rangers on MSG Networks. The former Rangers broadcaster passed away at the age of 68.

The New York Rangers have lost a legendary voice in Al Trautwig at the age of 68. The unfortunate passing marks the end of a legendary career, that has spanned decades.
He spent his career covering multiple New York teams including the Rangers, Knicks, Yankees, and other live sports events.
Not only did Rangers fans feel the pain of his passing, but so did his protege.
The news was shared by Alan Hahn, his former colleague at MSG Network, in a post on X. «We lost a legendary voice in sports,» Hahn wrote. «But we lost a lot more than that. He was not only a friend, but a mentor and a teacher. He was, personally, one of my biggest resources of support when I moved into this career.»
Fans will undoubtedly miss the voice that provided a soundtrack to the greatest moments in New York Sports history.

MSG Networks & Cool Runnings

MSG Networks would extend a heartfelt message as they mourn the passing of a New York sports legend in Trautwig.
Trautwig would call not only the NHL but would gain notoriety in the 90s as he was featured in the Disney movie "Cool Runnings", lending his talent to the comedy which starred John Candy.
Although rooted in New York, Trautwig spent enough time on the national stage to be cast in the Disney movie Cool Runnings as a sportscaster narrating the feats of the Jamaican bobsled team at the 1988 Calgary Olympics.

There would be no cause of death mentioned for Trautwig's unfortunate passing. But we will have a library's worth of material for us to remember his presence in New York.
Rest in Peace Al.
