Rangers superstar Artemi Panarin continues to dazzle as he has become the first player in 90 plus years of the New York Rangers history to record 12 points through the first five games of a season.

Last night he continued to accumulate points as he scored his sixth goal of the season against the Toronto Maple Leafs and capping off a win of 4-1 at Scotiabank Arena. This streak has also helped the Rangers put together one of their best starts as they have gone 4-0-1 through the first five games.

It appears that Panarin is on a mission yet again. Last season he was in the conversation for the Hart Trophy, and he put together one of his best seasons in his entire career. He played all 82 games, scoring 49 goals with 71 assists for 120 points and was a + 18 with 24 penalty minutes. This season through five games he has scored six goals with six assists for 12 points and is a + 4.

Panarin also has helped his line again as Alexis Lafrenière continues to dominate especially that he is in a contract year. There have been talks that the Rangers and Lafrenière have made significant progress in a new contract which could surprise many at the value and term.

With all, the Rangers are continuing to build off what they accomplished last year which was a presidents trophy and nearly into the Stanley Cup final. The goal this year is to Sprint past this and get into the Stanley Cup finals again.

It's safe to say that Panarin will be one of the key players that will take the team on his back and hope to accomplish that goal.
