Taking a look at the New York Rangers projected lineups for their game tonight against the Buffalo Sabres at Madison Square Garden for 7:00PM.

Tonight should be an interesting matchup as this is the first time the New York Rangers and New York Islanders will be facing off for the 2024-25 season.

However, Rangers reporter Vince Z. Mercogliano has released the projected lineups from the New York Rangers practice that took place on Monday, stating everyting still looks the same for todays practice:

Everything looks the same for the NYR lineup:

Panarin - Zib - Laf
Cuylle - Trocheck - Smith
Kreider - Chytil - Kakko
Edström - Carrick - Vesey

Lindgren - Fox
Miller - Trouba
Jones - Schneider

Brodzinski and Mancini working as the extras.

After the Rangers practice head coach Peter Laviolette issues a statement and confirmed that rookie defenseman Victor Mancini will be scratched and Jones will fill in. Along with confirming Igor Shesterkin will get the start tonight:

NYR coach Peter Laviolette confirms Zac Jones stays in the lineup, Victor Mancini remains out.

Igor Shesterkin in goal vs. Buffalo.

Along with that Peter Laviolette has also commented on if Jones will get to play of the Rangers PP2 tonight:

Will Zac Jones play the point on PP2 tomorrow?

Lavi: "We're considering it. I do feel like that's Zac's type of game. I think he's a puck-moving, heads-up defenseman. When the puck is on his stick, he can make things happen."

Overall it should be a very interesting matchup, and hopefully the New York Rangers can pull off another victory and better their current 8-2-1 record.
