During the second annual Shoulder Check Showcase charity game, Rangers rookie Matt Rempe trolled his teammate Rangers star Chris Kreider as he was mic'd up for all to hear.

Rempe was having fun on the bench and even scored a goal during the showcase and began to mark his teammate as he felt his goal was nicer than Kreider. This charity game was established in 2023 by Rob Thorson along with his wife Sarah as they continue to battle their loss of their son Hayden.

«The young man [Hayden] it's in honor of had a massive impact on everyone in this community and on the hockey community,» Rangers forward Chris Kreider told the media.

Many players had participated including Anaheim Ducks star Trevor Zegras as he weighed in on how he felt it was put together and the reception he received.

Rempe has been working on his game all summer. He worked with former NHL enforcer George Laraque on ways to improve his technique in fighting and knowing how to fight and how to grapple.

He now is working with Chris Kreider directly on his workouts and putting the time in on the ice as he would like to become more than just an enforcer but a goal scorer.

These steps are important for Rempe as he wants to make it difficult for head coach Peter laviolette to not dress him during games. All Rangers fans will have to wait till mid-september in order to see how his changes come into play as training camp will begin at that time.
