Things got heated between the New York Rangers and Washington Capitals as the night started out with a heated tilt.

During the opening minutes of the New York Rangers and Washington Capitals game, Matt Rempe dropped the gloves with Capitals defenseman Dylan McIlrath.

Rempe wasn't the only youngster that made a difference tonight, as New York Rangers rookie Victor Mancini made a name for himself as he laid massive hits all night.

The 22-year old was drafted 159th overall in the filth round by the New York Rangers back in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.

However, Mancini was laying the body all night against the Washington Capitals and truly made himself noticeable out on the ice.

The hits came earlier from Mancini, as he laid out Capitals forward Connor McMichael.

It doesn't end there, as Mancini completely flattens Capitals veteran Tom Wilson as he was making his way down centre ice during the second period.

This clearly got the attention of Rangers fans as Mancini wasn't afraid to hit the veteran.

I laughed so hard when this happened! It was great!!!

Give him the Calder

The kid has been looking excellent for the New York Rangers, and will more than likely continue to see ice time if he continues to play like this!
