The New York Rangers and Washington Capitals game is already off to heated start as Rangers enforcer drops the gloves within the first three minutes of the game.

The Rangers and Capitals are facing off for the first time since the New York Rangers eliminated the Washington Capitals during the 2023-24 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

However, it seems the rivalry hasn't died since then as Matt Rempe, who was just recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL dropped the gloves with Washington Capitals defenseman Dylan McIlrath for a heated heavyweight tilt.

Unfortunately it look likes McIlrath got the best of Rempe as he the 22-year old left the fight bloody.

McIlrath, a big (6-foot-5, 220 pounds), 32-year old rugged defenseman, who is also a former New York Rangers as McIlrath caught the attention of NHL scouts and was selected by the New York Rangers with the 10th overall pick in the 2010 NHL Draft.

Despite the outcome of the fight the 22-year old managed to get his team fired up as the New York Rangers netted their first goal of the night, as Kaapo Kakko feeds a beauty pass to Will Cuylle.

Kaapo gets it going + a ~fine~ finish from Cools.

Should definitely be an interesting night as the first period is still underway!
