New York Rangers star exposes what truly went on behind closed doors during the players only meeting
New York Rangers star forward opens up and exposes what was discussed during the Rangers players only meeting that was held earlier this week.
The New York Rangers season is off to a very rough start and has been spiraling out of control over the past several weeks, and recently it was announced that the team held a players only meeting to discuss general manager Chris Drury.
It was reported on X, that the players don't seem to have an issue with their head coach Peter Laviolette. The team has a good relationship with him, but it appeared the players had an issue with Chris Drury and the way he handled things with Jacob Trouba.
However, that may not be the case. Today after the New York Rangers practice star forward Vincent Trocheck addressed the media and opened up about what really went on behind closed doors.
#NYR Vincent Trocheck made a point to speak to us beat reporters to clear the air on a report that the team meeting after the LA game was not about GM Chris Drury.
«That could not be further than the truth. If we have a closed-door meeting, with just the players, I think the last that we'd do is complain about our general manager.»
More from Trocheck: «When we have closed-door meetings in here, it's about us. It's about what we can do. Obviously, we're in a little bit of a hole right now, and it's about what we can do to get out of it. It has nothing to do with management. They do their job. Chris is doing his job to try to put the best players on the ice to succeed. We are those players, and we have to go out there and preform. Do we what can to succeed. I just wanted to clear the air on that. Obviously there's a lot of stuff circulating our team right now and when I see something like that, I don't know where it even comes from. That kind of frustrated me.»
Trocheck definitely didn't hold back his frustration regarding the speculation that has been surrounding the Rangers locker room.
Hopefully this clears the air for everyone and helps the team overcome their struggles as they desperately need to start winning some hockey games.
The New York Rangers are set to face the Dallas Stars on Friday night at 8:00PM.
