A recent trade proposal has surfaced with the New York Rangers crafting a deal to acquire Vegas golden Knights defenseman Shea Theodore to shake up the team.

General manager Chris Drury has made it known that he would like to change some of the dynamics of his team after their disappointing loss in the Eastern Conference final to the Florida Panthers.
This proposal shows a blockbuster deal with the Rangers acquiring Shea Theodore and Dirgori Deniesenko from the Vegas golden Knights in exchange for Reilley Smith, Braden Schneider and a 2025 first round draft pick.
A trade of this magnitude would certainly shake up the team as the Rangers would acquire a veteran defenseman who has won the Stanley Cup and is in his final year of his deal. Theodore played 47 games last year scoring 5 goals for 37 assists for 42 points and would give the blue line even more firepower.
Denisenko hasn't found his game yet in the NHL but with the Rangers having such a deep lineup, it could give him a chance to find his game while playing at the bottom of the roster.
As people say you need to give something to get something and moving Braden Schneider certainly would qualify as the 22-year-old defenseman who was drafted in the first round in 2020 would be tough to lose but could bolster your lineup in the short term for a Stanley Cup run.
It would certainly be an interesting trade, and the money would likely work without an issue, but it would remain to be seen if Drury and Golden Knights general manager Kelly McCrimmon would want to pull off a trade like this.
