Elliotte Friedman lays out the New York Rangers biggest problems after their sudden downfall

According to NHL Insider Elliote Friedman, he has the scoop on why the New York Rangers are in a downturn. The Rangers' flaws are glaring, even after trading their former Captain Jacob Trouba.
Even after the team has moved on from Captain Jacob Trouba, they can't seem to get out of their own way. Giving up the last ten of their thirteen games, it's officially time to call them out on their contender status.
At this point, they're pretenders and the 32 Thoughts Podcast's Elliotte Friedman shared some harrowing information regarding the locker room situation.
The Rangers' defensive lapses would lead the Kings to score three goals consecutively on Igor Shesterkin, resulting in the elite goalie being pulled. The team would leave Madison Square Garden in shame, as they were booed off the ice.
The team would give up 5 goals for the day, with the Kings victorious. Sounds familiar?
They'd follow that game, allowing Jim Montgomery's St. Louis Blues to score three goals early, with a 3-0 lead.
The team is defensively soft, allowing teams to score early, and often on their goalies Igor Shesterkin, and Jonathan Quick.
So you know, they've really put themselves in an incredible hole. I don't think anybody saw this coming. And then again, on Sunday night, it's just unbelievable how they start games right now.
They start games stunned. 5-0 to the Kings, 25 minutes and at home, And 3-0 to the Blues, Sunday night. You're always trying to climb out of a deep hole like it's an impossible way to play.
Friedman has a point, they've let other teams play their game instead of being difficult to play against. And in a division like the Metropolitan, with the New Jersey Devils, and Washington Capitals they're not sharp enough to cut off the zone entries, and superstars they have in the past.
This has resulted in a 15-14-1 record, and being the 5th best team in the Metro. A failure by any account.
