NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman reported today that the Minnesota Wild's GM Bill Guerin has placed veteran center, Devin Shore on waivers.
The move will send him to the AHL's Iowa Wild, where he'll have to report to if he clears.
As reported by Friedman on X.
Shore has found himself on various teams in the NHL in his career, he's played for the Seattle Kraken, Edmonton Oilers, Columbus Blue Jackets, Minnesota Wild, Anaheim Ducks, and the team who drafted him the Dallas Stars.
He was selected 61st overall in 2012, by the Stars and hasn't been able to find a full-time job in the league. This season he's only played 12 games with the Wild,
His career-high was 82 games in 2017-2018, scoring 32 points( 11 G, 21 A) and would only see two full seasons of play in Dallas.
The trouble for Shore is he may not end up being claimed by anyone in the NHL. He's been jumping around the league from team-to-team, as a journeyman and has yet to find a home.
The Wild don't need the help as they're one of the top teams in the NHL with a 20-7-4 record, under Head Coach John Hynes.
And Bill Guerin's acquisition of former 1st round pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets, David Jiricek who's telling what his plans will be.
The move freed up $1 Million in cap space, giving the Wild at $1.9 Million to work with when the trade deadline arrives.
With news of Kaapo Kakko possibly being on the move, could GM Chris Drury make a move for another depth forward in the lineup, like Shore?
