Opposing Fans Triggered Trouba Is Playing Tomorrow
The captain for the Rangers has been in the mix of controversy today.
Jacob Trouba was fined $5000 earlier today from the NHL Player Safety for high-sticking Trent Frederic during the 7-4 win over the Boston Bruins yesterday.
Fans from opposing fanbases are up at arms that is all that he received. Some wanted multiple game suspensions, and freelance writer Ken Campbell, insanely wanted 25 games.
The common phrases being used against him is dirty, amongst other more obscene phrases.
Jacob Trouba has only ever been suspended once, where he sat out two games in February 2017 for hitting then-Ottawa Senators forward Mark Stone, in the head.
The league also fined Jacob Trouba $5,000 for slashing then-St. Louis Blues Vince Dunn, in January 2020. That's it. So there is no "history" of dirty play, and if there was, it's far and few between his career.
Jonny Lazarus and the Blue Crew Podcast gives their take on the matter:
At this point the league will not suspend him, and rightly so. Here are Trouba's number for the season.
Clearly he has been a tremendous leader for the team. Anything to take down the leagues top team, right?
