The New York Ranger's opening night game will take place at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA enemy territory.

The Penguins and GM Kyle Dubas have submitted their final roster to the NHL and it will give us an idea of what to expect when the Rangers take on their Metropolitan Division rivals.

They have announced 13 players of 22 submitted total, will be forwards for the Penguins this season.

Full Team Roster

13 forwards
Noel Acciari, Anthony Beauvillier, Michael Bunting, Sidney Crosby, Lars Eller, Cody Glass, Kevin Hayes, Evgeni Malkin, Rutger McGroarty, Drew O'Connor, Jesse Puljujarvi, Valtteri Puustinen and Rickard Rakell),

7 defensemen
(Ryan Graves, Matt Grzelcyk, Erik Karlsson, Kris Letang, Marcus Pettersson, Ryan Shea and Jack St. Ivany)

2 goaltenders
(Joel Blomqvist and Tristan Jarry).

The Penguins look deeper, with the addition of Kevin Hayes, Rutger McGroarty, Cody Glass, and Anthony Beauvillier.

However, it's hard to tell if this is even a Wild Card playoff team.

All the while the team has placed goalie Alex Nedeljkovic, Bryan Rust, and Blake Lizzote have been placed on IR by the team.

forwards Vasily Ponomarev and Matt Nieto have been designated as Injured Non-Roster and Long-Term Injured Reserve, respectively.

They have waived Boko Imama, and assigned Sebastian Aho( the Swedish one), to the AHL's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

"I feel good about the position... Joel had a great year last year. We just felt we were never going to regret having Tristan, Ned, Joel, we signed Filip Larsson too. With Ned injured, we'll start the year with Tristan and Joel." - Kyle Dubas

It seems like Dubas is relying upon his old tropes as he builds what could be a roster that is built for 1st-round exits only.

But we'll have to see how they hang for a full year in the NHL, as this is Dubas' second year in Pittsburgh.

Last season they were knocked out of playoff contention by a lowly Chicago Blackhawks team.

It's hard to understand why Sid stuck around for this dumpsterfire.
