New York Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette shocks many as he issues a statement regarding two injured forwards.
The New York Rangers are set to face off against the Montreal Canadiens this afternoon at 1:00PM back on home ice at Madison Square Garden.
However, this morning head coach Peter Laviolette has released a statement regarding two forwards,
Filip Chytil and
Chris Kreider and has confirmed their status for today's game.
During this mornings meeting with the press, Peter Laviolette has confirmed that both forwards, Chytil and Kreider will be returning to the New York Rangers lineup this afternoon.
#NYR Chris Kreider and Filip Chytil will be in the lineup today.
Jonathan Quick will start in net.
Filip Chytil, the 25-year old center has missed seven straight game after suffering an unidentified upper body injury.
After colliding with defensemen
K'Andre Miller back in November 14th when the Rangers faced the San Jose Sharks.
As for the 33-year old veteran forward, Chris Kreider he has been sidelined due to «back spasms» after Rangers GM Chris Drury labeled him as a top trade candidate.
Back locked up on me. Few games back it was lumbar, and then during training camp it was thoraxes.
At this moment, it still remains unknown who will be out as a healthy scratch for this afternoons game, as Laviolette revealed that players are getting evaluated and it will only be confirmed before the game.
While Laviolette was willing to say Kreider and Chytil are in, he wasn't willing to say who is out.
"We're still working through some things from last night, with regard to the players,'' he said. "Getting evaluated.''
Hopefully he makes the right choice and the New York Rangers can bounce back and put an end to their five game losing streak.
