New York Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette takes issue with the Rangers lack of effort during an unacceptable 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday night.

On Friday night the New York Rangers took an embarrassing 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins, even without their star players Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin in the lineup the Rangers still got out played throughout the first two periods.
Despite not giving up a single shot in the third period down 3-2, the Rangers were unable to capitalize on their chances including two power plays in the last ten minutes, ultimately leading to a tough a loss.
Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette spoke with the media, but the postgame press conference lasted under 40 seconds as he did not hide his frustration for the Rangers' performance.
Short and not very sweet from Laviolette. «That's unacceptable» were two of the very few words he offered after #NYR loss.
Here's the postgame interview of Peter Laviolette:
Peter Laviolette's postgame press conference tonight:

Did he see enough from the Rangers in the first 40 to offset the last 20? "No"

Loss due to a lack of intensity? "It was."

On the effort: "That's unacceptable"

Surprised to see the Rangers play like this? "Yes"
The New York Rangers have entered the third period down by one goal in each of their last three games. Over the previous two games the Rangers were able to battle back on pull off a victory, but that wasn't the case in Friday night.
As the Rangers are in a very close playoff battle these types of performances are just unacceptable, as every game and every point matters if they want to true things around.
