NHL insider confirms New York Rangers GM Chris Drury is working on another massive trade

The New York Rangers aren't done making deals ahead of the March 7th trade deadline. With $16 million in cap space, NHL Insider Larry Brooks has commented that the Rangers GM Chris Drury is working the phones.
With $16 million available in cap space at the trade deadline, GM Chris Drury will have a significant amount of money to work with.
That kind of cash is life-changing for an organization that is determined to stick to its winning ways.
With the team's recent acquisition of JT Miller, it appears that GM Chris Drury hasn't relented, as he's continued to work the phones in order to bolster the Rangers lineup.
With the addition of Miller, the team needs more center depth, as they have lifelong friends, JT Miller and Vinnie Trocheck in the 1C and 2C slots.
With Filip Chytil's trade to the Vancouver Canucks, they'll need to dip into their pockets to find a third-line center.
«I think the Rangers are going to be looking for a third-line center, and there are probably some available but what's the cost? I don't think they're going to want to do very many rental deals in order to try and get into 8th place,» said Brooks.
In order to get a deal done, you'd think that GM Chris Drury would have to ponder getting rid of prospect Brennan Othmann.
That is not in the works, as the team is not planning on making him available during the trade deadline.
Typically Stanley Cup contenders will part ways with any talent they can in order to acquire winning pieces. Including their own top prospects, but somehow GM Chris Drury plans on finding a 3C without parting ways with Othmann, or Berard.
Which honestly, isn't a bad idea as the team has to have some kind of future talent in the ranks.
It's difficult to see where the path for Chris Drury lies next, but we hope they find a good replacement for Filip Chytil.
