Just on Tuesday Halverson backed up Andrei Vasilevskiy against the Ottawa Senators and will do so again tonight, but by clearing waivers it will allow the Lightning to assign him to the minors by tomorrow or over the upcoming 4-Nations Face-Off break.
Halverson had been the top goaltender playing on an AHL contract this season and arguably one of the top players.
