Major game changing news has just broke out, that will completely change things as the New York Rangers are preparing to take on the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight.

According to serval reports it has been confirmed that superstar forward Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins will not be playing in tonight's matchup against the Rangers after suffering an unfortunate injury.
As the two teams are preparing to faceoff in a very crucial matchup, NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman confirms that Sidney Crosby won't be playing against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

The Penguins and Rangers are desperately trying to remain on the edge of the Eastern Conference wild-card race but both teams are still several points behind, but now the Rangers are given a massive advantage during tonight's game to take two points.

Superstar Sidney Crosby got hurt Tuesday night against the Rangers biggest rivals the New Jersey Devils

On Tuesday, Crosby was involved in a strange collision with a pair of New Jersey Devils players, as he unfortunately got his arm caught between them during the Penguins 3-2 shootout loss.
Along with this devastating news for the Penguins, they will also be without second-line center Evgeni Malkin, who is out week-to-week and on injured reserve, the first time since Nov. 13, 2021 that the Pens will have to play without both players.
The Penguins will play without Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin tonight at MSG. It's the first time since Nov. 13, 2021 that they have played without both of them. Crosby will miss his first regular season game since April 7, 2022, ending a streak of 229 consecutive games played.
Definitely an unfortunate situation for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Sidney Crosby, but certainly a huge opportunity for the Rangers to take two points tonight and move closer to the wild-card spot.
