Rangers Accomplish Incredible Feat In Win Plus Injury Update
The Rangers dug deep again and played a much cleaner defensive game to beat the Islanders for their fifth win in this grueling stretch of six games in nine days.
The Rangers finish the season with a 11-1-0 record in the second game of back-to-back sets.
Unfortunately, this win came with the cost of another injury, as Ryan Lindgren left the game with a brutal leg injury and was not able to leave the ice on his own.
Head coach Peter Laviolette said that Lindgren is still being evaluated. Hopefully we will hear more news on his knee quickly.
At this rate, Peter Laviolette may want to seriously contemplate picking spots to protect his key players.
Lindgren's injury comes on top of captain Jacob Trouba missing his sixth straight game with his own lower-body issue.
The Rangers are six points ahead of the Hurricanes for first in the Metropolitan Division.
The Hurricanes play tonight. Both will have 14 games left.
They're one point behind the Bruins for first in the East. Boston has 13 games left.
The Panthers also has 94 pts in 68 games, just like the Rangers.
