Rangers Are Blowing The Whole Season Away With No Even Strength Goals
The Rangers are about to blow their chance to control their own destiny at clinching the Metropolitan Division, the No. 1 seed of the Eastern Conference, and depending who you ask if they care or not, the President Trophy.
The last three games have produced arguably the worst stretch all season for the Rangers capabilities of scoring 5v5 goals.
Eight straight periods, 163:04 total time since their last even strength goal.
Throughout that span, all they have is three power play goals and one shorthanded goal, while getting outscored 9-0 in 5v5 during that same stretch.
Last time they score an even strength goal, was in the final three minutes of the 5-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens, April 7.
The Rangers have 20 minutes to turn this around as they face a 2-1 deficit heading into the third period against the Islanders.
