The Rangers have already been involved in a decently big trade heading into the deadline with acquiring Alex Wennberg but now they are close to landing the biggest player on the trading block.
Insider David Pagnotta announced that the Rangers and Penguins are close on finalizing a deal that will be sending Jake Guentzel to New York in exchange for Kaapo Kakko and a 1st round pick.

that the Penguins and Rangers Jake Guentzel trade talks have "intensified".
NY's 1st round pick AND Kaapo Kakko could BOTH be in the deal.
Kaapo Kakko is 23 and scored 40 pts last season. Former #2 overall pick.
"Former New York Rangers Stanley Cup winning GM Neil Smith is confirming that he is also hearing the Rangers are in deep talks with the Penguins surrounding Jake Guentzel."
Jake Guentzel currently has 52 points in 50 games this season, we will find out shortly if the superstar is headed to the big apple.
