Rangers Assign Player Back To The Wolf Pack
Adam Edström has been assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack.
Both Edström and Jonny Brodzinski were recalled from the Wolf Pack earlier this morning.
This move is for cap purposes. Sending Adam Edström down puts them back under the cap and gives the Rangersa day of accrual.
With Edström on the roster, the total cap is $83,823,191. That means they use the LTI pool for $323,191.
Adam Edström being sent down, removes $846,667 and puts them under the cap, which means they can accrue cap space towards the deadline again, albeit not a large number.
After sending down Edström, their total cap is $82,976,524. That's $523,476 under the cap.
The Rangers will have an extremely difficult time by the trade deadline to make any moves to fill any holes in the roster with the extremely limited cap space they have.
Expect Edström to be recalled back to the team very soon.
