New York Rangers enforcer Matt Rempe has been brutally disrespected by Washington Capitals fans after a tough 5-3 loss.

After a back and forth roster transaction, Rangers forward Matt Rempe was back in New York after being recalled from the AHL's Hartford Wolfpack the day before the two teams would face off against each other.

During the first period, Rempe was trying to show the Peter Laviolette and the Rangers organization on why he deserve to be in the lineup, as he dropped the gloves with Dylan McIlrath in a heavyweight bout.

It was clear that McIlrath got the upper hand on Rempe during this fight, but both players threw and landed some good punches before Rempe was pulled to the ground.

Rempe was left the fight bloody after fight, whether it was from a punch or his visor he needed some repairs.

However, it was until later in the night that Rempe was disrespected by a Washington Capitals fan, as one fan took part in the Top Shot challenge on the jumboteon and was giving the perfect opportunity to call out and embarrass Rempe by saying:

«Matt Rempe can't skate.»

Unfortunately it didn't end there as many fans throughout social media also picked on Rempe, here are a few more:

How he got this far is a mystery to me. Is he related to Bettman or something 🤪

He also can't fight very well either. lol

At this point you have to feel bad for the kid considering the amount of training and effort he put in this offseason to better himself and his skills was truly impressive!
