With the trade deadline only a few weeks away, general manager Chris Drury and his staff continue to look over the NHL and see if a deal could be done either prior or during trade deadline day.

The team continues to kick over tires on a potential deal for a new third line centre as injuries and demotion have devoid the Rangers of that position.

A new name has emerged that the Rangers maybe in on who happens to be Ducks centre Trevor Zegras.

The Ducks are currently in a state of flux as the team is trying to find an identity and which direction their rebuild will head.

Numerous rumors have been circulating around the web that Zegras may be on his way out from Anaheim.

To land a player of his caliber, Drury will need to package a series of picks and prospects to the ducks including former second overall pick Kappo Kakko.

The Ducks franchise is in a state of flux and are currently trying to plan their next steps in their rebuild phase.

With the Rangers currently in first place in the metro division, a trade of this magnitude could either help or hinder the team in the short and long term.

Zegras is on a team friendly deal of 5.75 million per season over the next two years.

He's also currently on injury reserve as he broke his ankle in early January.

It remains to be seen on whether Drury will be willing to make a deal like this or look for bargain deals to help patch up key areas while keeping his main assets.
