Rangers Star Makes History In Ugly Win
A win is a win, and in the end it doesn't matter tonight.
They got the two points. History won't remember the details. Rangers prevail 4-3 in overtime over the Chicago Blackhawks, arguably the worst team in the league, and very much shorthanded.
The Rangers blew a 3-1 lead in the third period to hand Chicago their first point since Jan. 19.
Thankfully the Rangers escaped with a win, and it's all thanks to
Mika Zibanejad, who scored the overtime game winner and sets the franchise record for the most overtime goals with eight.
It should be noted, Mika Zibanejad hasn't scored in seven straight games and hasn't had a 5v5 goal since the calendar turned to 2024, a total of 16 straight games, with his last coming Dec. 29 in Florida.
A win is a win, the Rangers win their fourth straight game.
