The New York Rangers schedule is awful quiet this week, they only have two games one of which is against the Detroit Red Wings.

Igor Shesterkin faced 124 shots in 3 games, and after being pelted this week we're sure he'll appreciate three days off. The Rangers ended the weekend with a 5-2 victory over the short-handed Islanders.

Shesterkin proved to be a solid goalie, as he saw the Rangers through the 2-1 win over the Senators.

The team won two of three games and secured the top spot in the Metropolitan Division with an 8-2-1 record. The plus 20 goal differential has helped put them over the Carolina Hurricanes, with 17 points in the division.

New York scored at even strength, on the power play and shorthanded in the same game on Sunday for the first time since March 26 against the Philadelphia Flyers. Adam Edstrom's third-period goal Sunday made him the 16th different goal-scorer for the Rangers this season.

Shesterkin, Panarin, and Troecheck

Shesterkin has once again proven to be the Rangers elite goal tender, facing 124 shots, and only allowing seven goals this week. This gave him a .944 save percentage, kept the Rangers in the game against the Washington Capitals, won two against the Senators, and only allowed two goals on 37 shots Sunday against the Islanders.

Artemi Panarin has continued his points streak, with 18( 9 G 9 A), and leads the team in both categories. He scored two points against the Islanders, has three multi-point games this season, and is one point away from 800 career points.

Vinnie Troecheck scored the 200th goal of his career on Sunday, despite the lack of fanfare earlier in the week. He

Miller

Miller has been demoted to the 2nd pairing, with Captain Jacob Trouba after getting a shot with Adam Fox. Ryan Lindgren was placed back on the top line in light of Miller's lack of production lately.

He's only scored 2 points( 1 G, 1 A) despite an ATOI of 24:43 this season. He's remained scoreless since October 19th and has a -2 rating.

This week the Rangers will face the Detroit Red Wings for the third and final time this week. The Rangers are 2-0 in the three-game series against the original six squad.
