The Rangers built up a nice 2-0 lead against the Dallas Stars last night, and looked to be in firm control of the game for the first 45 minutes, until it all crumbled apart in the third.

Dallas scored six unanswered goals, five in the third period, after the first two from the Rangers.

The Stars ended up winning 6-3. Barclay Goodrow scored the last goal of the game and for the Rangers in the final 15 seconds of garbage time, but it was too late to recover.

The Rangers were incapable of playing the full 60 minutes needed to win the game.

Unfortunately this isn't the first time the Rangers have blown a multi-goal lead to lose a game this season.

November 4th, against the Minnesota Wild, the Rangers built a 3-0 lead and like last night, looked to be in firm control of the game.

Until Minnesota scored four straight. The Rangers managed to force overtime, but lost in a shoot-out.

The Rangers even flirted with nearly blowing a 5-0 lead against the Detroit Red Wings on November 7th. After going up 5-0, the Red Wings scored three unanswered goals!

A game the Rangers were supposed to be running away with, they ended up having to fight in the end, just to survive.

Thankfully they got the win, but it wasn't encouraging to watch.

The Rangers right now are still dealing with their top defenseman, Adam Fox, out with a lower-body injury.

He is ineligible to return to the team until November 29th.

Plus Igor Shesterkin is still shaking off some more rust after returning from a 16 day absence due to injury as well.

Any questions or doubts about the Rangers ability to hold leads, will be resolved once Shesterkin gets into better game shape and Fox returns so we can have the right defensive pairings for the team.
