NHL free agency is quickly approaching, and the New York Rangers are looking to secure key players to help boost their roster going into next season.

Mainly the Rangers are looking for someone who can play in their top six and play right wing alongside Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider.

One particular player the organization could be interested in is a former Rangers who just helped the Florida Panthers eliminate the Rangers. That particular player would be Vladimir Tarasenko.

After being traded to New York before the 2023 Trade Deadline, Tarasenko entered free agency, and unfortunately the Rangers never gave him an offer to come back.

However it seems like Tarasenko is in the same boat with the Panthers as they have higher priorities to worry about and won't have the cap space for him. But now, the Rangers have more cap space and is currently looking for a right wing, and Tarasenko used to play that position when he was with the Rangers.

During his time with Rangers he was paired with Kreider and Zibanejad, but he wasn't around long enough to see what type of impact the three of them could do.

If Vladimir Tarasenko would take a bit of a discount and return to a team he didn't want to leave, it would simple be a great choice for the Rangers.
