Trocheck Trying To Address Media, Still Baffled After Incredible Win
I'm sure we aren't the only ones living high after the Rangers thrilling 4-3 overtime win over the Carolina Hurricanes last night! Vincent Trocheck tallied the double-overtime winner as the Rangers took a 2-0 lead in their Second Round series!
Trocheck scored his first career playoff overtime goal and tied the franchise record for the longest goal streak in playoff history (Cecil Dillon (5) in 1933). He also established a Rangers record with his fourth consecutive playoff game with a power play goal. Here he is addressing the media after his goal:
"I couldn't tell you what happened. It went in."
Head coach Peter Laviolette offers encouraging words of Trocheck and his performance in the playoffs:
"It's in playoffs and it gets pushed into games that have an overtime or multiple overtimes and yet his role doesn't change."
The Rangers begin a postseason 6-0 for the second time in franchise history, joining their Stanley Cup playoff run in 1994. Game 3 will be played in Carolina on Thursday.
