The Rangers improved to 4-0 in the 5-minute overtime session as Chris Kreider scored his third career overtime goal.

Kreider tied Rod Gilbert (165) for the most goals in new Madison Square Garden history (regular season and playoffs combined).

Watch the overtime goal from Kreider with the beautiful feed from Mika Zibanejad!

For the season, the Rangers have a 5-1 record in their first 6 overtime games this season, the lone loss coming in a shoot-out against the Minnesota Wild on November 4th.

The Rangers remain in first in the Metropolitan Division with a league best 23 wins, tied with the Vancouver Canucks, who have played three more games.

Just for the record, the Islanders are 4-9 in overtime/shoot-outs this season.
