There's great news amongst all this woeful injury news for the Rangers.

They have a prospect who could make the opening night lineup, and it's who you least expect.
Victor Mancini, who has had a great training camp for the New York Rangers. He outshined all of the other Rangers prospects at camp and worked his way up the team's depth charts.
The 22-year-old has shown he can play a two-way game, impressing the front office and Peter Laviolette undoubtedly.
«I feel like my game is as a very dependable player, very two-way style of play,» Mancini said. «To be able to help this team out in any situation that they need, that's what I'm going to do. Just being here, trying to help the team in the best way I can, work as hard as I can in practice and have some fun too.»

After practice, there was a group of reporters who wanted to talk to Mancini, which is a good sign for someone who could make the roster.
Mancini all the while, hasn't received any update on his position with the Rangers feels confident enough about his performance. He feels he has earned a spot in the Rangers lineup.
While he was interviewed he would expand upon his feelings about being able to play in the NHL during the 2024-2025 season.
«I'll be at a little loss for words I think,» Mancini said. «It would be very special to share that with my family as well whenever that first game might be. To share that moment with them would be the best part for me.»

As Ryan Lindgren is out on injured reserve, this will allow Mancini to get some experience in the NHL and show what he is made of.
The 2022 NHL 5th-round pick played 40 games with the University of Nebraska-Omaha, scoring 10 points( 4 G, 6 A), and sounds like he could be a promising defenseman in the Rangers lineup.
He's more a passer than a scorer but his offense is coming around. His game is a lot like Marc Staal's when Marc was a Ranger." Plucked in the 2022 Draft, Mancini went in the Fifth Round, 159th overall. "He reads the game off the puck and is very alert defensively," according to another scouting report
