According to recent reports from NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the New York Rangers are set to shake up their roster and make some drastic changes.

Earlier this week, Elliotte Friedman stated that forward Chris Kreider and defenseman Jacob Trouba are the two players the Rangers are willing to hear offers for:

In the aftermath of their 6-2 loss in Edmonton on Saturday, the Rangers have made it very clear they are interested in making moves and shaking up their roster.

Among the names indicated are Chris Kreider and Jacob Trouba, although other options will be considered.

As stated by Freidman, this comes after an embarrassing 6-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night.

Clearly opening the eyes of the upper management that things need to change before it's too late.

The 33-year old forward Chris Kreider has appeared in the first 19 games this season with the Rangers, and has managed to only score nine goals but only one goal in the last six games.

Along with that the 2009 first-round pick also carries a $6.5 million cap hit until the end of the 2025-27 season, but of course he has trade protection as he has a 15-team no-trade clause.

However, after a recent report from Darren Dreger of TSN we now know when the New York Rangers will trade the veteran forward:

Dreger on TSN690 this morning in Montreal said it's more likely Kreider gets moved in the offseason rather than at the deadline.

Truly a wake up call to the New York Rangers as the indicates that things are changing and now every player must prove to management that they deserve a roster spot.
