Writer Is Nuts For Suggesting This Long Suspension For Trouba
Freelance Hockey Writer Ken Campbell, suggested a ridiculous suspension length for Jacob Trouba for high-sticking Boston's Trent Frederic.
Campbell is suggesting a 25 game suspension.
Trouba has already been fined $5000 for the incident, and while a game or two suspension might be warranted, wanting to suspend a player for a third of the season for this is ridiculous.
New York Post writer Larry Brooks, thankfully gives a clear message for Campbell for his ridiculous suspension request.
Campbell doubles down on his statement with this :
"I wonder if the New York Rangers still believe George (The Violent Gentleman) Parros is still "unfit to continue in his current role," now that their captain has been fined $5,000 for taking a baseball-swing slash at an opponent's head, when he should have received 25 games."
Here is a longer clip of the hit that has just been circulating.
This video showcases Frederic was clearly holding Troubas arm, making it clear it wasn't intentional.
However, it was still reckless, and warranted the fine. Plus I won't argue if a suspension of a game or two is announced. But 25 games? Okay.
Someone should tell Campbell his Bruins bumper sticker is larger than his ego.
