Snoozefest Game Ends With Vancouver Win, Sets Up Canadian Second Round
The Vancouver Canucks are advancing past the opening round after missing the playoffs the previous year for the fifth time in franchise history. They beat the Nashville Predators 1-0 in what was mostly an uneventful affair.
It wasn't until Pius Suter finally broke the ice with just 1:39 remaining in regulation to send the Canucks to the second round.
The final 30 seconds of the game was wild, with the Canucks having to fend off a Nashville power play and being down 6-on-4 with the goalie pulled.
The Canucks will now face off against the Edmonton Oilers in a match that will guarantee at least one Canadian team makes the Conference Finals.
