Devastating update: Ryan Lindgren sidelined after suffering upper-body injury

Some devastating news emerges from the New York Rangers preseason game against the New York Islanders.

As the Rangers and Islanders face off tonight in an intense battle, as within just six minutes Rangers forward Filip Chytil leaves the ice after a brutal knee-to-knee collision with Islanders forward Scott Mayfield.
Chytil ended up needing assistance off the ice after an the ugly collision with Mayfield. Despite this some good news emerges for Chytil as he was able to return to the ice with 1 minute remaining in the first.

This is where more bad news emerges, as Rangers defenseman didn't hesitate to stick up for his teammate.
After the hit was made, Ryan Lindgren instantly, went after Scott Mayfield, and dropped the gloves with him. However, this has now backfired for the team as Mayfield ultimately got the upper hand during the fight.
As the second period started the New York Rangers posted on their social media account on X, stating the Ryan Lindgren would not return tonight as he has suffered an upper body injury from the fight.
The official statement from the Rangers:
UPDATE: Ryan Lindgren (upper body) will not return tonight.
Definitely some devastating news for the Rangers to lose a valuable member of their defensive core, considering we are down 3-0 as the third period is underway.
