A Canadian team officially announces Stan Bowman as their New General Manager.

The Edmonton Oilers have officially reached a final decision and named Stan Bowman as their new General Manager.

Without a doubt this decision has gained a ton of mixed reactions from the hockey community.

Hearing the Edmonton Oilers will hire Stan Bowman as GM todaymedia conference to be held sometime this morning.

Bowman is well known around the league as he joined the Chicago Blackhawks in 2001 and was promoted to the GM position in 2009, and went on to win three Stanley Cups during his time with Blackhawks.

During this time his reputation was severely damaged as he failed to address sexual abuse allegations made by a former player Kyle Beach against their former video coach Brad Aldrich in 2010.

However, Instead of taking action against Aldrich, the Blackhawks allowed Aldrich to leave the organization with on a positive note, which led to further incidents of abuse.

With the Edmonton Oilers preparing to contend for multiple Stanley Cups, the choice of hiring Bowman as their new GM has become a major concern among their fans.
